Hi, I have a gtx1080, running windows 10 with a 27 inch monitor. I just got a AOC E1659FWU usb monitor and I tried to set it as my secondary monitor. When I boot into windows, both monitors show desktop for a few seconds and the usb monitor will go black screen. The main monitor (27' connected to gpu) will keep going on and off and the pc is not responsive until the usb monitor is completely undetectable from my display setting. ![]() Feb 11, 2017 Hi, I have a gtx1080, running windows 10 with a 27 inch monitor. Are you connecting it to a USB3 port? USB2 ports do not have enough power to run this monitor without a powered hub. Are you connecting it to a USB3 port? I have tried all 6 usb ports on my pc and they all gave me the same results. PC keeps connecting and disconnecting the usb monitor until it is completely not detected. You have 6 USB 3 ports? Aoc E1759fwu Windows 10 DriverTwo usb 3 ports and the rest are usb 2.0. Like I said, USB2 ports won't work because they don't have enough power to run the monitor. Like i said, i tried all 6 ports including usb 3 ports. USB 3 ports won't work either. What model motherboard do you have? Like I said, USB2 ports won't work because they don't have enough power to run the monitor. Are you running Windows 10 Anniversary Update? Display the version of Windows by typing Winver in the Search Box. I am running windows 10 anniversary. And the displaylink i downloaded should be able to support it according to this link I do feel the problem is with displaylink. When I boot into windows, the usb monitor shows a duplicate desktop just fine for a few seconds and when displaylink launches, the monitor immediately goes blank. Hi, I had this same problem. I was using the AOC E1659Fwu USB powered monitor on a Windows 8.1 laptop and it worked fine. Later, that laptop crashed and I bought a brand new one with Windows 10 Pro 64. The AOC monitor did not work. I queried AOC and they said to uninstall and reinstall the DisplayLink Drivers for Windows 10. I did that and it worked for a just a few minutes until it stopped worked after I walked away from the computer for awhile. I rebooted and got it to run for a few minutes again. The next day and every day after for the past month it has not worked. I have done everything AOC asked to no avail. Like you, I started looking around on on the net and found on a Windows Community board that this is definitely a hardware problem and the simply are not compatible. Driver Windows XpI also read that someone ditched the proprietary USB cable that came with the monitor and instead used a basic USB to mini-USB cable. The mini part fits into the larger section in the back of the monitor where the proprietary cable had a larger and smaller male end. Just insert the mini-usb male end into the larger portion of the slot in the back of the monitor. I then plugged the regular USB (probably a 1.0 or 2.0 cable not sure) into the laptop and it IMMEDIATELY worked.
